Why Is Finance So Important?

Part 1 of 3

This is such a great question! Read on to find out why finance is so important.

Let’s Back Up A Little

Let’s ask ourselves, what is finance?

(According to the Corporate Finance Institute) Finance is defined as the management of money and includes activities such as investing, borrowing, lending, budgeting, saving, and forecasting.

How many times within a day or week do you spend money?

Money is necessity to be able to support ourselves: pay for rent, groceries, cell phone, invest for retirement, and so on.

When we come to recognize that exchange of money for services and/or goods are a natural part of life, how important is it to you to be wise about every decision involving money?

I hope that it is very important. You work hard for the money that you earn. Right? It is within your best interest to learn how to be a good steward of it.

That is why learning about finance is so important. It ties right into the saying, “Knowledge is power.”

Knowing about every aspect of finance enables you to make wise decisions about your money. (Look at the definition again.)

Do you want to know how to do each of those financial activities? Your answer should be, “Yes!”

You should desire to know how because knowing will lead to financial security.

Say goodbye to money stress!

Who doesn’t want to do that?

About the Name

I know that when you hear the name (Bethany Financial Group) and learn that the owner of a business is named Bethany, the assumption is that she named the business after herself. Well, I did not name the business after myself.

I named my business after my namesake, which is the city of Bethany.

Bethany means, “house of God”. If you look in the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) in the Bible, the city of Bethany is where a lot of pivotal moments happened in Jesus’ ministry.

  • He was baptized outside the city of Bethany.
  • He raised Lazarus from the dead in the city of Bethany. Today, Lazarus’s tomb is located in the city Bethany
  • The last supper was located in the city of Bethany as well.

The city of Bethany was a place where Jesus felt most at home.

What does this mean?

When you come to seek out my help, I want you to feel comfortable to come as you are. Like when you are at home. Why?

I do not know you, your story, and what you have been through to get to where you are today. I am just so excited for you! That’s right. I am so proud of you that you are being courageous and stepping out on this journey to financial freedom! (Yes, this is a pivotal moment in your life!)

The more honesty and openness within this process of goal setting and planning will enable me to better understand the best way that I can help you.
